What is Rotaract?

Rotaract which is the youth arm of the Rotary International, stands at present as one of the most prestigious voluntary youth movements in the world. Its membership is open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 30 and often boasts of a composition of over 200, 000 young adults world-wide, many of whom come from diverse ethnic, religious and racial backgrounds. Being one of the most vibrant service, leadership, professional and community service organizations for youth’s character development in the world today, Rotaract aspires to reach out to the very communities that encounter great difficulties in surviving even a day and lend its helping hand when assistance is needed the most.

Sri Lanka has also been privileged enough to witness the good work done by Rotaract in the form of being part of Rotary International District 3220 which comprises of Maldives as well. Having a base of 65 Active Rotaract Clubs with over 1500 Rotaractors around the nation, the Rotaract community was the leading arm for eradicating so many critical issues faced in communities of Sri Lanka & Maldives.  

Rotaract Club of IIT (RACIIT)

Being part of a prestigious youth movement for the past seven years, the Rotaract Club of Informatics Institute of Technology (RAC IIT) has strived to uplift our community and to provide an opportunity for all students at IIT to engage in volunteerism where students learn how to develop themselves as better citizens in the society.

Our energetic Rotaractors focus their strength in numerous areas where they strive to uplift our society through various community-based projects, build better friendships within the club and the Rotaract Community, provide service at an international level and to develop one’s professionalism. All effort put towards this movement is to sustain humanity and cultivate relationships within one another which in return makes a huge impact in our lives.
