Milad-Un-Nabi

“May the teachings of Prophet guide you at each and every moment of your life and show you the right path to follow!”

Milad Un Nabi is the observance of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammadwhich is commemorated in Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. The name of the holiday “Milad Un-Nabi” simply means “birth of the prophet.

Throughout the month, people will spend time reading the life story of Muhammad in the Koran, hadiths, and in biographies. People will also gather on Muhammad’s Birthday to pray out loud in unison and recite Quranic verses together. Finally, special family meals and charitable contributions to the poor are also ways to celebrate the holiday.

On this sacred day when Prophet Mohammad’s Birth took place, let’s strive to understand the message being conveyed by the Prophet’s teachings and strive to follow the path of peace, kindness and harmony mentioned in the Prophet’s teachings.
