“Gaming fosters the mindset that allows creativity to grow” – Nolan Bushnell

The gaming world is a way of expanding the horizons of creativity and our imagination. It’s a world where we can create what we want and control all aspects of it and we have to admit that is pretty addictive. Not only is it a way of going into a whole new world it’s also a way to just escape reality for few seconds.

The new technological era is filled with the most spectacular gaming experiences that the present world has ever laid their eyes on and yes it will get bigger and better in the near future and we will be waiting to incorporate all the new technology when It comes to our biggest gaming festival known to everybody as “IGF”.

The IIT Gaming Fest is a place of battle between various competitors in various platforms, but for this year it consisted of Fortnite, Call of Duty 4, Dota 2 and Fifa 18. The most popular games were showcased with participants from all around the island and even professional gamers were present for this Gaming fest to take their chances on winning the Grand Cash Prize. Gaming fest was a 2-day event that took place on the 15th and 16th of September at the IIT premises where consoles and all the necessary equipments were ready for the players to engage in their battles. Registration of gamers started early in the morning where the whole building was packed in a matter of minutes. They started the first few matches and every match they played, made them come closer to the final battle for each platform. There were a few intense moments in the final

matches where everyone was engrossed to the match as the gamers battle it out for the last time. First to finish was Fifa 18 a final game that kept everyone awake and on the edge of their seats as the winner received Rs. 8000 cash prize upon winning. Afterwards Dota 2 came to an end after a very strategic battle between the two final teams remaining and the winning team was awarded with Rs. 10,000 and soon after Call of Duty and Fortnite came to an end where the winning teams were also awarded grand cash prizes of Rs. 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Immense positive feedback was given by all the participants and all the recognition received through the project is very satisfying after all the hard work the committee and everyone else put into make IGF a successful project. We as Rotaract Club of IIT is very proud and happy with all the memories we had made through organizing this amazing gaming fest and we can only assure everyone that it will only get better for years to come and not only should you mark your calendars for next year, we also highly recommend you to start practicing your gaming skills from now itself.
